Hyundai proved to be one of the biggest automotive surprises here at CES. The company unveiled its new ‘Bluelink' infotainment and telematics system as part of Tuesday's Consumer Telematics Show and this was being demonstrated on the company's show stand at CES too.
McLaren Automotive officially announced on Friday that it will reveal the 12C Spider, an open-top version of the MP4-12C supercar, on July 3. There has been much speculation about an open-top version since the release of the original MP4-12C. In a video interview, McLaren Formula One driver Jenson Button extols the virtues of open-top driving.
Plans to introduce a drug-drive limit have edged closer as limits for 16 different drugs have been approved. Eight prescription and eight illicit drugs have been added to the regulations which will be introduced this autumn, meaning it’ll be an offence to be over the prescribed limits. Police will be clamping down on people who drive after taking drugs such as cannabis with a limit of 2 micrograms per litre (mcg/l), cocaine (10mcg/l) and ecstasy (10mcg/l) – while people who take prescription drugs like morphine (80mcg/l) and diazepam (550mcg/l) will also have to be careful not to break the limit.
